Tongue - Bettyhill - Thurso - John o'Groats (nearly)

61 miles, (1000 total) 28th August

Across the top of Scotland! ...and our first real tailwind. Very hilly to Bettyhill for tea stop. Never ending up down up down. Brewed up behind stone wall and lunched - cyclist appears "How much longer do these hills go on!". Reckon this is the toughest day yet.

Fair few cattle on the roads.

Easier from Dounreay and through Thurso. Minor lanes to Canisbay where 1000 mile point passed 200 yards from the youth hostel.
Only three miles to go - we'll finish in the morning.

Sense of acheivement setting in as we received E2E certificates from Pat the warden. Great place to stop.

Being watched across the top of Scotland ...and 1000 miles is passed
